hjl - 5 months

Oh what fun!

weight: 20 lb
height: not sure but guessing about 28" at least
diaper size: 3
clothes Size: 6-12
eating: 5-6 oz bottles every 3-4 hours, solid feeding of fruit or vegetable at night w/ rice cereal or oatmeal
sleeping: 10 - 12 HOURS!!! You sleep from about 7pm to 7am
schedule: Sleep all night, 3 naps a day
likes: anything you can get your hands on, the doggies, jumparoo, food
mom and dad: love to make you smile and kiss that sweet face

Your vocabulary has gone from ohhhh to ahhhh (need a new video).
You laugh, smile, rarely fuss and are pretty much a perfect little muffin!
Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is in your mouth, fists, your bud sophie, my shoulder, your washcloth, etc... You are so close to cutting that first tooth, I can just feel it... literally! You are recognizing those around you... Mama, Dada, Lo Lo and now Bryant (your new best bud), Harley & Jakey. You think those doggies are just hilarious until they start barking then you want no more of them! You are also starting to get a little bit of stranger anxiety... it's only happened a couple times but if you don't recognize who you see you make it known that you are not happy with your bottom lip pout and a pitiful cry!
You are now in full force eating solids - fruits and veggies... so far you have tried carrots, sweet potatoes (your favorite), squash, peas, apples, bananas (your other favorite) & pears. You eat them at night with either rice cereal or oatmeal and are totally down with the spoon.... mouth opens wide and you gobble it right up! Hoping to jump to 2 solid feedings a day very soon!
You caught your first cold and I was a mess, mainly because of the lack of sleep but nothing is worse than seeing your poor sweet baby so miserable and not knowing what is wrong! We went to the Dr. 3 times in one week... Yes, the receptionist at the office learned my name real quick now we are on a first name basis! Ended up you just caught a cold and then another little cold, lasted 2 weeks and never turned into an ear infection or anything else for that matter THANK GOD but still I was a nervous wreck and I know this will be the first of many (promise you will not live in a bubble baby).
Still not really rolling over but the Dr. doesn't seemed too concerned and said by your 6 month appointment you should be all over the place so we shall see!
You have a ball in your jumparoo because you are now actually really jumping.
You are still a great sleeper and we are slowly transitioning you to your crib... so far this has been our biggest struggle yet but we will get there!
All in all you are the PERFECT baby Hagen and just when I think there's no way I could possibly love you anymore you prove me wrong! You melt our hearts by the second!
all our love - m & d

hjl - 3 & 4 months

weight: 18lb, 5 oz
height: 27" long
diaper size: 3 (they are a little big but no more messes through your clothes)
clothes Size: in between 3-6 & 6-12... you're a growing boy
eating: every 3-4 hours 4-6 oz with rice cereal
sleeping: 10 HOURS!!! You sleep from about 7pm to 5am, get up and eat and then back down until 7 or 8am! You are a good sleeper! About 2-3 good naps during the day
schedule: Sorta... kinda... not really :)
likes: Oh I could talk about this subject forever... Sofie, Bath time, kicking your legs, YOUR FISTS, mom, dad & lo lo
mom and dad: love my gummy smiles and contagious giggles!

I was bad about blogging on the 3 month birthday (started back at work and have never realized "free time" to do things like wash bottles, fold laundry, cook dinner or even sit down and blog is far and few between) so I've got some backtracking to do on your 4 month birthday today! You have grown so much and are developing such a personality! You are very coy and love to give the sweetest smiles and blinks to anyone you meet! You started laughing too which has made playtime so much fun! You still LOVE your bath and kick and play so much that you end up with no water at then end of your bath! We have plently of videos to prove :) Speaking of bath time, Aunt Lo Lo will turn on some music and you really react to it kicking and smiling, it's so cute and what's even funnier is that you love Reggae music, must be the hawaiian in you :) And Aunt Lo Lo, boy do you just adore your Lo. As soon as she walks in the room you light up... she can get you to laugh more than anyone and I am so lucky to have someone with you every day while I'm at work that loves you and cares for you as much as she does.
Some firsts these past months... You went to your first parade, Gasparilla kids parade which you will grow to love every year... You went to your first birthday party for your buddy James Guemple, he turned 1! You are now officially in your jumperoo and you haven't quite gotten the jumping part down but love to move and watch it light up and play music.
The biggest news and first for you is that the day before you turned 4 months old you rolled over. This was also the first day at Gymboree and you did it in front of 8 other mommies and 8 other babies so I have plenty of witnesses! All the babies were having tummy time on the mirror, singing songs and talking about "baby's firsts" whats new with each of you this week and low and behold during this time you just rolled right on over! It was so cute and everyone cheered and clapped, I cried and you were beaming with pride!
Everything is in your mouth these days from the wash cloth to my shoulder... I wonder if teething is around the corner!
Hagen, our heart is bursting at the seams with soo much love for you! You are the best baby and continue to amaze and bless us everyday! We love you so much sweet boy!
Love Love Love you!

blessed

This past Sunday Jan 9, Hagen was baptized at Christ the King Catholic Church. The day couldn't have been more beautiful weather wise and spiritually. As if the day couldn't get any more special, this was also the same day Jesus was baptized in the Jordan river.
Our family and closest friends celebrated sweet Baby Hagen with us and is truly a day we will forever cherish.

1st christmas

Kyle, Hagen and I celebrated our first christmas this past week. It was so fun carrying on some of our own childhood traditions and starting a few new ones too!
Christmas eve we headed to mass with the Roble's then dined on a fantastic meal in our PJ's on the couch. Christmas morning Santa came and just the 3 of us opened gifts, enjoying being in the moment and reflecting on the reason for the season. Although Hagen didn't "get" Christmas at 9 weeks old he sure was the star of the show being the greatest gift of all! Christmas day was bittersweet because for the first time in my life I didn't get to spend it with my Mom, Lauren or Austin but my Dad made the trip down to Tampa and Kyle's mom did as well and we just had a fantastic laid back day full of laughter, love and Hagen!

hjl - 2 months

My goodness, time really flies when you're having fun! Hagen is 8 weeks old and we are literally eating up every waking & sleeping moment with him!

weight: 13 lb, 10 oz
height: 23 1/2" long
diaper Size: 1-2
clothes Size: 0-3 months but moving out of them quickly
eating: every 2-3 hours about 4 oz
sleeping: 5 hour stretches at night, around 3-4 1hr naps during the day
schedule: Not so much... but are becoming more predictable.
likes: LOVE your bath, talking to your letters that spell out your name over your changing pad, being held, walks outside, sleeping in your nap nanny (best investment ever!)
mom and dad: love holding and talking to you in exchange for that adorable sweet smile

Hagen, you are such a great baby. The only time you fuss is when you are hungry, dirty or tired. However, you are a sleep fighter, you get so tired and just won't shut it down. Every night after our bath and bedtime routine you get super worked up and I think with a little mix of a belly ache you are down right miserable this time of night and we feel totally helpless. The pediatrician told us to back up your late night schedule and start putting you down much earlier in hopes that we can surpass this fussy time.
Like I said before you absolutely love your baths and when we walk into the guest bathroom you know just what is about to happen and get so excited! Hopefully this means you will love the water this summer!
Your grandma's, grandpa's, aunts and uncles can't seem to get enough of you so every weekend someone is here visiting you! Not only do we love for them to visit but it also means anight out for mommy & daddy!
You are starting to smile and interact, coo and even giggle to yourself. As we stare into your big blue eyes you finally are noticing us and responding to our expressions. You are also starting to enjoy your play gym but still not a fan of tummy time. One of our favorite times with you is first thing in the morning when you wake up and just smile and coo for what seems like hours! You are gaining weight and turning into quite the little chunk and we love it! Dr. Jacobson actually gave mommy props for keeping up the breast feeding and for your weight gain! Power milk :)
Excited to see all the milestones you hit this next month, I feel like it's all flying by so fast and I am especially sad that I have to go back to work in just a short month!
You are such a special gift and we can't wait to spend our first christmas with you next week!
Love you baby boy!
