1st christmas

Kyle, Hagen and I celebrated our first christmas this past week. It was so fun carrying on some of our own childhood traditions and starting a few new ones too!
Christmas eve we headed to mass with the Roble's then dined on a fantastic meal in our PJ's on the couch. Christmas morning Santa came and just the 3 of us opened gifts, enjoying being in the moment and reflecting on the reason for the season. Although Hagen didn't "get" Christmas at 9 weeks old he sure was the star of the show being the greatest gift of all! Christmas day was bittersweet because for the first time in my life I didn't get to spend it with my Mom, Lauren or Austin but my Dad made the trip down to Tampa and Kyle's mom did as well and we just had a fantastic laid back day full of laughter, love and Hagen!

hjl - 2 months

My goodness, time really flies when you're having fun! Hagen is 8 weeks old and we are literally eating up every waking & sleeping moment with him!

weight: 13 lb, 10 oz
height: 23 1/2" long
diaper Size: 1-2
clothes Size: 0-3 months but moving out of them quickly
eating: every 2-3 hours about 4 oz
sleeping: 5 hour stretches at night, around 3-4 1hr naps during the day
schedule: Not so much... but are becoming more predictable.
likes: LOVE your bath, talking to your letters that spell out your name over your changing pad, being held, walks outside, sleeping in your nap nanny (best investment ever!)
mom and dad: love holding and talking to you in exchange for that adorable sweet smile

Hagen, you are such a great baby. The only time you fuss is when you are hungry, dirty or tired. However, you are a sleep fighter, you get so tired and just won't shut it down. Every night after our bath and bedtime routine you get super worked up and I think with a little mix of a belly ache you are down right miserable this time of night and we feel totally helpless. The pediatrician told us to back up your late night schedule and start putting you down much earlier in hopes that we can surpass this fussy time.
Like I said before you absolutely love your baths and when we walk into the guest bathroom you know just what is about to happen and get so excited! Hopefully this means you will love the water this summer!
Your grandma's, grandpa's, aunts and uncles can't seem to get enough of you so every weekend someone is here visiting you! Not only do we love for them to visit but it also means anight out for mommy & daddy!
You are starting to smile and interact, coo and even giggle to yourself. As we stare into your big blue eyes you finally are noticing us and responding to our expressions. You are also starting to enjoy your play gym but still not a fan of tummy time. One of our favorite times with you is first thing in the morning when you wake up and just smile and coo for what seems like hours! You are gaining weight and turning into quite the little chunk and we love it! Dr. Jacobson actually gave mommy props for keeping up the breast feeding and for your weight gain! Power milk :)
Excited to see all the milestones you hit this next month, I feel like it's all flying by so fast and I am especially sad that I have to go back to work in just a short month!
You are such a special gift and we can't wait to spend our first christmas with you next week!
Love you baby boy!

Aunt Lo went University of Alabama and even though they didn't win last weekend, they sure did have one cute fan rooting for them!  I think he's even giving them a thumbs up!
