Rest

We are in the home stretch and since I'm using this blog to not only keep family and friends up to date on Linogon life but also as a sudo pregnancy journal I thought it was only fitting to document the last couple weeks.

35 weeks and baby Hagen started giving me a run for my money, frankly I think he just wants to come out and play.
My feet had been swelling for about a month but not until a couple weeks ago did my blood pressure increase with it. After a brief bout in the hospital on a Friday afternoon they sent me home to rest and come back in Monday morning. Obviously after a weekend of doing nothing the swelling went significantly down but unfortunately everything else was still high (protein & BP)... not good.

The following Monday the Dr.'s decided to admit me into high risk unit at the hospital for a 24 hour test which came back the next evening as preeclampsia. To my disbelief they told me that I would now be spending the remainder of my pregnancy in the high risk unit, I couldn't believe it and totally got my ugly cry face on. After 2 nights in the hospital my blood work and bp kept coming back normal so they decided to give the 24 hour protein test another shot and unfortunately the results came back exactly the same. Because all my other vitals were fine they released me on strict bed rest and Dr. visits every other day until they decide to deliver the baby hopefully around 37 weeks.

I am totally overwhelmed by all of the love and support from friends and family. Phone calls, flowers, texts, emails, meals... I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for everything. My sweet husband has been beyond amazing and truly I couldn't get through this without him.
I'm not a good sit still and nap kind of person but I think this is just God's way of giving me a little rest before our sweet baby boy arrives so as hard as it is I am trying my hardest to take full advantage of this down time.

28 weeks - HJL

We decided to get a sneak peak of our little man. I think I have a a Kyle Jr in my belly! Although he only showed his face for a short minute and then turned over not to be bothered again... we were able to get a little glimpse of sweet baby Hagen James.

Memories and Change

In life and especially with a new baby on the way comes change. Change is not always good or bad, it just brings a bit of unknown. I know that we are about to be filled with more love than imaginable and that we are preparing for a new life ahead of us but it's a bit emotional (or maybe I am just completely hormonal) to think of all that that we have been through and all that is about to change!
Yesterday, as I packed our final box a lot came to my mind...
Kyle first purchased our home in 2004, fixed it up and made it ours. Over the years I've griped and complained, but about what?? As it empties out I can't help but think of all the memories that started in an ugly yellow cement block house but into something of our own... Dating, engagement, marriage, dogs, dinner parties, dance parties, floods, cars, roommates, neighbors and the list goes on. Some memories I wish to forget and some I wish I could relive over and over again.
I'm sure our next house and this new chapter in our life will be the best yet! The biggest change will be that no longer will it be about Kyle and I but baby too and now we will have him to share in this journey with. Here's to a great new start and many many new memories and changes!

Postcard Inn

There's a new hotspot in town at St Pete Beach called the postcard inn. It's an adorable 50's retro surf hotel... such a fun place that we are enjoying this summer... all 3 of us!
